Bell Chair by Konstantin Grcic
Magis has engaged their frequent collaborator, Konstantin Grcic to completely re-think and re-invent the ubiquitous plastic chair. Created from recycled polypropylene salvaged from the production line and the local car industry, the very essence of the Bell Chair is sustainability. The designer has led a process with advanced engineering producing a stylish, solid and stackable chair using less material, less energy in production and featuring a super light weight of only 2.7kg.
The chair can also be recycled again at the end of its life, “but its life is designed to be long” says Grcic. Chairs made from a single piece of injection-moulded plastic are the most common type of chair in the world, but the Bell Chair along with its impeccable environmental credentials has a distinctive refined form typical of Grcic with colours and materiality to complement any decor. Grcic sees this chair as perfectly at home, both indoors and out.
