Tables / Coffee Tables / Superquadra Coffee Table

The Superquadra collection takes its name from the pilot town planning design by Lúcio Costa and Oscar Niemeyer, conceived in 1956 for a residential neighbourhood of Brasilia. The square volumes of the famous buildings suspended on agile pilotis are reinterpreted by Marcio Kogan into sideboards, benches, coffee tables, console table and tables.

The coffee tables are square or rectangular and are available in two heights and five sizes. The console tables are available in two lengths. There are versions featuring a top in Calacatta or Sahara Noir marble, a single piece of Dark Brown stained palisander Santos, or Dark Brown stained Canaletto walnut wood slatted top. Or various pairings of two tops.

Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan (b. 1952) established Studio MK27 in São Paolo in the late 1970s. Working in the tradition of mid-century Brazilian modernism, his furniture is an adroit rendering of architectonic forms in natural materials, typically timber and neutral upholsteries. Kogan’s work for Minotti is emblematic of his unique style of luxurious, 21st century classicism.

Now helmed by the third generation of the Minotti family who guarantee the modern-classic aspect of the portfolio while collaborations with designers including Hannes Peer, Giampiero Tagliaferri and Japan’s nendo bring in fresh perspective.
