Sofas / Fixed / Brasilia Sofa

Brasilia, has an ultra-precise, contemporary, minimal style, rooted in Brazilian modernism. A family of furniture with a highly innovative profile that reinterprets shapes from the past. With a strong architectural feel paying tribute to the period of great cultural ferment that swept through Brazil in the 1950s, in which Oscar Niemeyer and Lùcio Costa were prominent figures. By juxtaposing different materials with strong expression, Brasilia also looks to the future, made to stand the test of time and become a new classic. The family includes sofas, elements with one armrest, an armchair and ottoman, and a varied selection for the bedroom.

Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan (b. 1952) established Studio MK27 in São Paolo in the late 1970s. Working in the tradition of mid-century Brazilian modernism, his furniture is an adroit rendering of architectonic forms in natural materials, typically timber and neutral upholsteries. Kogan’s work for Minotti is emblematic of his unique style of luxurious, 21st century classicism.

Today, Minotti remains a family-run business, guided by the second and third generations. The brand continues to evolve through creative partnerships with leading international designers such as Giampiero Tagliaferri, Hannes Peer, GamFratesi, Marcio Kogan with Studio MK27, and Japan’s nendo. These collaborations bring fresh perspectives to a modern, global design portfolio.
