In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Platner Collection, Knoll created the Platner Gold, an 18k gold-plated finish option. The finish, plated in Italy, is available across the Platner range and is also available in Metallic Bronze and Polished Nickel.

Dimensions : 1070 or 910mm D x 380mm H
Options : Finish in plated 18k gold, polished nickel and metallic bronze with tops in clear or bronze glass and six marble options.
Material : Frame features vertical steel wire rods welded to circular horizontal and edge-framing rod. Base features a clear plastic extrusion ring that creates a smooth bottom surface.

Warren Platner (1919-2006) was born in Baltimore and graduated from the Cornell University School of Architecture in 1941. From 1945 to 1950 he worked for Raymond Loewy and I.M. Pei. He was a part of Eero Saarinen’s office from 1960-65, opening Platner Associates, in Connecticut in 1967. His series of wire-framed chairs, ottomans and tables for Knoll are icons of mid-century modern design.
