Sofas / Modular / Softcase Sofa
Softcase by Hannes Peer is an architectural seating system designed to define the living space rather than simply furnish it. It is a flexible system with multiple configurations and customisation options, allowing it to adapt to different interiors and ways of living. The sofa is designed as a clear, central presence in the room.

The design is defined by a shaped outer shell that frames the backrest. It features a vertical central seam and generous proportions. Upholstery in leather or fabric is finished with double stitching, forming a compact volume with soft internal cushioning. Armrests and backrests are integrated into the structure, while trapezoidal side geometry adds rhythm and clarity. One-piece seat modules allow flexible layouts, from simple to more complex arrangements. The sofa rests on a slim brushed aluminium frame that lifts the structure slightly from the floor, reinforcing its light architectural character and clean presence.

Hannes Peer expertly combines architectural skill with a passion for craftsmanship. Educated at the Politecnico in Milan and the Technical University in Berlin, his experience includes stints at OMA/Rem Koolhaas and Zvi Hecker. In 2009, he founded Hannes Peer Architecture in Milan, where eclecticism, central to his work, merges architecture, history, and technology.

Today, Minotti remains a family-run business, guided by the second and third generations. The brand continues to evolve through creative partnerships with leading international designers such as Giampiero Tagliaferri, Hannes Peer, GamFratesi, Marcio Kogan with Studio MK27, and Japan’s nendo. These collaborations bring fresh perspectives to a modern, global design portfolio.
