Jonathan Muecke 2025
Drawing on his architectural and sculptural practice, Jonathan Muecke developed an all-wood dining collection for Knoll. The Muecke Dining Table uses cylindrical wood dowels as its primary structural elements, with the end grain left exposed to make the material’s natural properties integral to the design.
Available in a selection of timbers, the table is offered in two sizes. Its construction emphasises the geometry, grain, and material character of the timber, with the structure remaining visually legible.

Jonathan Muecke
Jonathan Muecke’s practice examines the relationship between materials, objects, and space through processes of reduction and abstraction. Often working with a single material, he develops objects through repeated forms, scales, and proportions. This approach draws on architectural and artistic theory while resisting fixed distinctions between furniture, art, and architecture. Trained as an architect, Muecke interned at Herzog & de Meuron in Basel before studying art at Cranbrook Academy of Art and establishing his practice in Minneapolis.
Muecke’s work has been presented internationally since his 2011 solo debut at Volume Gallery in Chicago. His projects include the architectural pavilion for Design Miami in 2014 and an exhibition at Maniera Gallery in Brussels in 2016, developed in dialogue with Juliaan Lampens’ Van Wassenhove House. In 2022, the Art Institute of Chicago presented his first major museum exhibition. His work is held in collections including the Museum of Arts and Design, Art Institute of Chicago, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, CNAP, and Vitra Design Museum.

This month, @paola_lenti_official hosted a series of workshops at our Sydney and Melbourne showrooms, demonstrating their Chromatic Alphabet to a collection of local architecture and design professionals.
The Chromatic Alphabet displays hundreds of materials from the Paola Lenti library which are the result of more than 30 years of research. This library of texture and colour forms the foundation of the Paola Lenti design language, and is used as a tool to design the space and palette of a project.
The Chromatic Alphabet installation remains on display in our showrooms throughout July, alongside the latest collection from Paola Lenti. You’re welcome to visit and play.
