Jac Jacobsen (1901-1996) was a Norwegian industrial designer, famous for creating the revolutionary Luxo-L1 anglepoise lamp in 1937. This iconic design merged form and function, featuring an adjustable arm and flexible structure that allowed users to direct light with precision. The Luxo-L1 set a new standard in lighting design and became a symbol of Scandinavian modernism, with its legacy celebrated in museums worldwide. In 1986, Pixar paid tribute to this groundbreaking lamp by featuring it as a dynamic character in their pioneering short film Luxo Jr., highlighting the lamp’s expressive and playful potential.
