Davide Groppi established his design studio in Piacenza the late-1980s, and today his elegantly reductive floor, wall and pendant lamps set the benchmark for sophisticated understatement. As well as designing under his own name, Groppi has collaborated with Boffi, Mutina, Paola Lenti and Christofle, and some of the world’s most acclaimed chefs – including Albert Adrià and Massimo Bottura – have used Groppi’s lighting to set the mood in their restaurants. Groppi’s designs set the scene, but don’t steal the show.
