Ron Arad
Born in Tel Aviv, Israel 1951, Ron Arad studied at the Jerusalem Academy of Art, 1971 to 1973. Later, he studied at the Architecture Association, London, graduating in 1979. In 1981, he founded his own architectural design office/showroom 'One Off Ltd' in Covent Garden, London.
He is primarily known for his early metal furniture designs in the shape of sumptuous armchairs. He has designed the Bookworm bookshelf and FPE chair for Kartell, Tom Vac Chairs for Vitra, Glass furniture for Fiam, Upholstered Sofas for Moroso and more recently the Baby Boop dishes for Alessi.
