This project was a new direction for the University of Queensland's Faculty of Business, Economics and Law.
Their postgraduate programs have recently recieved recognition and are growing in numbers, however the Faculty believed they needed to branch out beyond St Lucia and offer a CBD location to businesses and professionals working in the city. Central Plaza I was chosen for its promient position in the professional and financial disctrict of the CBD.
With the delivery of post-graduate courses the Faculty required a number of multi-functional lecture spaces, breakout areas and staff and student workspaces. Links and access to the main campus were provided through hot desk terminals.
The intention of the space also required that the facilities would be available to surrounding businesses to hire for conferences and seminars. This included premium boardroom facilities and meeting rooms.
