In this two bedroom Sydney penthouse, Darren Palmer was confronted with a bare shell, with just floor tiles already there.
Nature come indoors, with Darren's starting point the marble tiles.'They have veins of rust, white and charcoal, which drove the palette, but they also played into those natural colors i like so much'. says Darren Palmer.
The living area has a palette of bronze, camel, charcoal and white- the bedrooms play off this: charcoal and bronze in the main, a luscius, sensual moody space, and bronze, camel and white in the second. Textured wallpaper was used in the bedrooms, Delux beige royal in the living area.
The organic wallpaper in the main bedroom is like a overscaled bedhead, while herringbone grasscloth features in the other bedroom. Curtains arn't just window dressing- two levels of drapery are used throughtout. The bronze drapery in the second bedroom is the texture of fine chain-mail, while behind this is a sheer. Sheen ups the glamour factor.
