Gateway Plaza is a landmark commercial building situated at Circular Quay, Sydney.

It underwent a major lobby demolition and fit out upgrade including café / restaurant and external works.

At the same time, building services were also upgraded and a new fire engineered design installed.

The project was completed while tenants and visitors (a daily figure of approximately 4,000) were able to access their tenancies and public areas safely over the 6 month period.

The Gateway building occupies a prime site right at the centre of Sydney’s Circular Quay. Boasting arguably the best harbour view of this great city, the building needed an entry-point to match.

Mirroring its towering position on the quay, the concept of ‘vertical reflection’ has been applied to the large diamond shaped lift lobby.

Timber, mirrors and contrasting stones have been used to identify the different areas of the lift lobby: low, medium and high rise.

The overall effect is given extra drama with striking lighting design.
