Completed in just 15 months, the 383 Kent Street development involved the design and construction an 11-storey office tower above an existing 10-storey car park, located between Kent and Sussex Streets in Sydney's CBD. The building provides over 17,000mÂ² of A Grade office space, 750mÂ² of retail space and 842 car spaces. Fitout of half the office area was completed as part of the project
The project was not only unusual but complex. Demolition was extensive and difficult in an area constrained by space and traffic movements.
This project, which was developed by Leighton Properties onbehalf of DB Real Estate, transformed an existing city car park into an impressive commercial address.Originally housing 842 vehicles, the development added 17,000square metres of A-Grade office space and 750 square meters ofretail area to the existing unattractive, utilitarian building.Although the car park was closed for a period while its structurewas modified to support the new office tower, the bulk ofconstruction took place with the car park fully operational
