The design intent was to create an environment that is complementary to the architecture.
The new design of the foyer space is a contribution from the building owners to the tenants to provide a space for casual meetings and open living room for relaxation.
Project philosophy and methodology
A premium office building comprising of a 50-level office tower, 120 Collins Street is located in the Melbourne central business district. The foyer refurbishment retained the existing stonework and metal claddings to the foyer and lobby spaces while enhancing the functionality and vibrancy of the space. The refurbishment incorporates the upgrade of the two Collins Street entries defined by full height backlit translucent glass walls. The design creates a new and more prestigious atmosphere integrating the old with the new.
