Tom Dixon Stone Lights Collection

A series of lighting inspired by the materiality of the same marble used to build the Taj Mahal.

The hard, semi-precious surface which bears a unique fingerprint has transfixed architects, sculptors and designers for millennia, and for us too this is the dream material - tough yet tactile, heavy and long-lasting.

Each product is made from a combination of solid white Morwad marble and shiny brass elements and has individual personality.

Stone Pendant

This Pendant Light comprises a halo hollowed from white Morwad marble with a central 'floating' ball in the form of a brass tipped bulb. The stone is cut to the thinnest possible depth, so it appears to be semi-transluscent, emphasizing its patterned surface. The Stone Pendant Light has a neat, black chord, and the brass capped bulb is sold separately.

Stone Wall Light

This Wall Light comprises a halo hollowed from white Morwad marble mounted on a glass plate with a central 'floating' ball in the form of a brass tipped bulb. The stone is cut to the thinnest possible depth, so it appears to be semi-transluscent, emphasizing its patterned surface and casting an ‘iris’ illuminating effect on the wall. Brass capped bulb sold seperately.

Stone Table Light

This Table Light comprises a halo hollowed from white Morwad marble mounted on a tube with a central 'floating' ball in the form of a brass tipped bulb. The stone is cut to the thinnest possible depth, so it appears to be semi-transluscent, emphasizing its patterned surface and casting illumination on to the surface below. The Stone Table Light has a neat, black chord, and the brass capped bulb is sold seperately.

When he was 20 years old, he organised events on the 'favolous' english party scene before creating his first objects at the age of 25, becoming one of the most talked-about avant-garde designers.
