The first is a stainless-steel-clad kitchen and bathroom, its scale generated by the cottage's ridge height, and the second a glass pavillion for living and dining.

Each is separeted by a moat of water that also defines the boundary between old and new.

In the original cottage the bedroom and study, as with the new living pavilion, arte lined with silver ash veneer, a finish similar in colour to the original sandstone of the cottage.
