The original building was constructed in the late 1930's and was operated as a private hotel until sold in 1999 to local Sydney developers.

In 1999 the hotel was designed and reconstructed by the renowned interior architects Burley Katon Halliday and converted to a 40 room modernist hotel complimented by a mecca of restaurants, bar and conference areas on the ground floor.

Inspired by some of New York's great boutique hotels, The Kirketon is renowned for fashion photo shoots and is a haven for fashion, film, television and design industry types. The Kirketon Hotel is featured in countless design and fashion publications around the world.

The shamelessly cool Kirketon, designed by renowned interior architects Burley Katon Halliday, is a hotel expertly created for lifestyle and urban luxury.

The owners have transformed a run down hotel from a series of neglected rooms to a vision based on ideals.

The Kirketon is about relaxed sophistication; it boasts 40 guestrooms, SALT restaurant, FIX bar and a private function room.

The Kirketon strikes a balance with a strength of planning and sumptuous combination of colour and materials "It is a purpose built hotel for creative individuals".

"To know what is important and what is not important to the new generation of global travellers. To understand that design is no temporary trend but the measure of urban living to always appreciate humor, creativity and style to celebrate lifestyle"

The Kirketon hotel is well positioned for patrons who want to savour the unique flavour of Sydney.
