The original building was constructed in the late 1930's and was operated as a private hotel until sold in 1999 to local Sydney developers.
In 1999 the hotel was designed and reconstructed by the renowned interior architects Burley Katon Halliday and converted to a 40 room modernist hotel complimented by a mecca of restaurants, bar and conference areas on the ground floor.
Inspired by some of New York's great boutique hotels, The Kirketon is renowned for fashion photo shoots and is a haven for fashion, film, television and design industry types. The Kirketon Hotel is featured in countless design and fashion publications around the world.
