To create a modern light open space that felt generous within the exisiting bounds of what was really a "semi-sized" freestanding house
The steep pitch of the roof allowed Fraser to suspend the mezzanine level over the kitchen area and open up the house to create a cathederal - like ceiling
The entrance hall runs along the bedrooms, bathroom and laundry - and opens through a translucent glass door into the open plan living area
Kreon "UP" floor lights run the full length of the hallway, creating a runway effect and a geometric though soft light at night
Because downlights can be very ineffective in a double-height space, the combination of table lights, floor lights, wall washer light and lamps creates a better ambience than distant sparkles in the ceiling ever would
