Area rugs are entirely handmade by the bext Oriental artisans. The first phase in the production of these rugs is tufting, wher wool is fixrd to the weft of the rug.
This is then followed but cutting, where the artisan begins cutting and shaping each of the designs with shears. Each pattern, from the simplest to the most complex, is produced by a highly precise and intricate cutting technique that shears the wool at different heights. Such differences in height give volume to the designs that adorn the rug.
